E-Kachehri for Pakistani Community in Kyiv

Today, the Embassy of Pakistan Kyiv held an E-Kachehri for the Pakistani community in Ukraine. The purpose of the Kachehri was to listen to the issues and suggestions of the Pakistani diaspora and address them on priority.
Ambassador Dr Noel I. Khokhar presided over the E-Kachehri himself. Deputy Head of Mission and Consular Assistant also to attend. Due to low temperatures and the COVID-19 situation in Ukraine, the E-Kachehri was held via Zoom Platform. Prior announcements were made on 23rd December 2021 on all social media accounts of the embassy regarding the date and time of the EKachehri.
Mr. Iftikhar Khattak, Pak-Origin Ukrainian national raised issues regarding cumbersome visa procedures and strict immigration rules of the Ukrainian Embassy in Islamabad and Ukrainian airports authorities respectively. He also appreciated efforts of the Mission to facilitate Pakistani students. One Pakistani student raised the issue of fake education agents in Ukraine.
Ambassador Dr Noel I. Khokhar informed that last week he had a meeting with Mr Yenin Yevhenii, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine where he highlighted all issues faced by Pakistani businessmen and students during visa processing, at the airports and at the hands of fake agents in Ukraine. The Deputy Minister promised his all-out support to resolve problems faced by the Pakistani community in Ukraine. Ambassador also informed that with efforts of the embassy soon Pakistan Culture Center at Nizhyn Gogol University and Pak-Ukraine Friendship Society in Kyiv will be launched.
Ambassador also briefed regarding efforts made by the embassy to facilitate and streamline admission of Pakistani students in Ukrainian universities. In this regard, it was once again informed, that embassy has nominated five Honorary Education Consultants (HECs) who are helping Pakistani students during admission, visa processing, arrival at the airport in Ukraine and getting suitable accommodation in Ukraine. It was added that Honorary Welfare Representatives nominated by the embassy are also doing a commendable job in facilitating the Pakistani diaspora in Ukraine. Ambassador also appreciated the work of Mr Iftikhar Khattak who continues to offer legal services to the Pakistani diaspora in Ukraine on a pro-bono basis.
